Airbnb launches a new service. The company offers customers a world-wide journey on the example of the heroes of the novel Jules Verne, “Around the World in 80 Days.”
As reported on the Airbnb website, the program participants will have a trip of 12 weeks. Like the protagonist of Jules Verne’s novel, it will begin in London. But then the routes diverge.
Participants of the program will visit 18 countries during the journey, including Romania, Uzbekistan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the United States, and Latin American countries. During each stop, the participants will be met by local residents who will familiarize them with their culture and traditions.
During the trip, the tourists will make a three-day cruise along the Nile, bring Bedouins in the Jordanian desert, go to a safari in Kenya and fly in a balloon over the African plains, spend three days in the open air in a national reserve in Australia, will see waterfalls in Iceland. The route in London will be completed.
The journey will begin on September 1, 2019. The opportunity to book a tour will be on June 20, said Joe Zadeh, Vice President of Airbnb Associated Press, in charge of Impressions. The cost of the trip will start at $ 5,000. This amount includes living expenses, meals and transfers, but does not include the price of tickets to London.
The company has not reported how many packages will be available for purchase.
The route is invented in the new direction of Airbnb – Adventures, which is part of the Airbnb Experiences project (“Impressions”) launched in 2016.
Airbnb diversifies the business by preparing for the initial placement of shares, notes Bloomberg. The company, according to the agency, may place securities on the stock exchange next year. Airbnb Reservation Service was founded in 2008. Now the entire business of the company is estimated at $ 31 billion.
